Information for bands

If you or your band wish to perform at the Didmarton Bluegrass Festival, we always welcome enquiries from artists.

Though the festival is billed as a Bluegrass Festival, we programme a variety of styles of music on our stage from Jazz to Folk. We book bands, solo artists, duos, trios, etc. The policy is quite open and our aspiration is to produce an attractive and varied show with American Bluegrass and Old Time Music at the heart of the event.

We run two stages with no compromise production facilities, full stage lighting and quality sound systems run by some of the most experienced engineers on the acoustic music scene in Britain .

The music is the main reason people come to Didmarton and we care about the bands we book. The whole experience of the festival is achieved by staging quality concerts in friendly atmosphere and we always hope the bands who visit the festival enjoy their time with us.

What we need from you

There is a link to a form which asks for all the information we need from you and this helps us get your information out to our customers without delay. The reasoning behind the form is that all the information is one place and we can quickly distribute it to all the people who need to use it. The marketing people who place your data on our website, the folks who compile the festival programme, the press, etc.

So, initially, if you complete all the section of the form, we have all we need to process your application and allocate you a slot in our programme.

We still like to get demos on CDs if possible as they are easier to handle than downloads.

The other essential element is a good photograph of the band preferably in colour and this needs to be at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Most pictures downloaded from websites are do not meet these quality standards.

Please avoid pointing us towards “Myspace” sites and “Facebook” pages as we cannot easily download information from these sites.

Finally, we ask for a technical specification and this is a list of your stage requirements. This ensures our sound people are prepared for you and have all the equipment you need for your performance. There is an example with the form.

Availability

Didmarton Bluegrass Festival is a full four day festival. There is a concerts on the Main Stage Thursday night and then concerts afternoons and evenings on two stages Friday and Saturday and am afternoon concert on Sunday. Please indicate your availability if not attending on all four days when you submit your application.

Once your booking has been confirmed, Didmarton Bluegrass Festival will issue you with a contract of engagement indicating your playing times and all terms and conditions.

Please note we do not issue guest tickets and only full members of the band will be provided with festival passes. You may include a sound engineer with your band crew.
