Welcome
Looking ahead to next September, the 23rd Didmarton Bluegrass Festival is beginning to take shape and the team are actively working on building another fantastic programme of music to fill the four days. The festival takes place at the newly named Cotswold Airport from Thursday 30th August to Sunday 2nd September, 2012 and the site will be open to early arrivals from Wednesday 29th August at noon.
Bluegrass may be the underlying theme at Didmarton, but the programme also includes an eclectic mix of music and it’s a policy that we want continue into the future. Bluegrass will always be at the core of the programming and judging by the feedback we have received, our loyal fans are happy with the choice on offer. Programming for a wide appeal is important for several reasons but it does ensure we attract a large enough audience to secure the festival financially and also expose new people to Bluegrass and Old Time music. But you can rest assured that banjos will always be welcome, lots of them!
Our friends at OGRI will be supporting the festival as usual and as our hosts who run the bars, they offer probably the cheapest pint on the festival circuit in Britain. Not only that, but they will serve you with a smile!
We are very proud of Didmarton’s unique festival features; its relaxed feel, informal atmosphere and especially the nightly bonfire where people gather to play music, socialise and generally have a good time; all this well into the night after most festival bars are closed. Ours stay open!
We can’t wait until September; we’ve even ordered the weather! But for the time being, you can put the dates in your diary and you will be able to buy tickets online very shortly and benefit from the “early bird discount”.
